Vanwall still hopes to engage in WEC in 2023, with not one but two Hypercars. While the ByKolles team's test drivers, Esteban Guerrieri and Tom Dillmann, took turns for the final tests, it is a production version which was revealed this week. A road car called Vanderwell 1000. A version which takes the general shape of the LMH, without a rear wing. Not much information has been released about this car so far.

A surprising revelation, since manufacturers competing in the top category of the endurance world championship no longer have the obligation to produce and sell a certain number of road examples before being able to approve their prototype. It remains to be seen whether it will be visible in competition next year. While the LMH should have been ready for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the second round of the world endurance championship this season, its registration was canceled. The problem of the manufacturer's registration in WEC mainly comes from an imbroglio around the name Vanwall, a British brand present in Formula 1 from 1954 to 1960 and the first to win the Manufacturers' World Cup in 1958. The name chosen for the road-going Hypercar also refers to Tony Vanderwell, British entrepreneur and founder of the brand.

In 2020, PMC Gmbh, the company that operates ByKolles, registered the Vanwall brand for commercial and industrial purposes. However, it is not clear whether the team based in Greding (Germany) has permission to use this name in competition.
