Video. Allan McNish's best duels

3. Silverstone 2011
Fifth meeting of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC, ancestor of WEC), the 6 Hours of Silverstone will be remembered as one of the final rounds of the duel between Audi and Peugeot . In the first relay, Sébastien Bourdais and Allan McNish will exchange command several times, even if it means flirting with the pit wall:

Victory will go to Manceau, associated with simon pagenaud. Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen will settle for seventh place due to a collision... by Allan McNish in a GTE.

2. 24 Hours of Daytona 2012
Less known (he never won this event), the Briton's participations in the 24 Hours of Daytona did not lack spice. As proof, we want this incredible duel against AJ Allmendinger just two hours from the finish.

So in the lead, Allan McNish must defend his place as leader at all costs. He doesn't hesitate to touch, then downright hit the side of the American's Grand-Am on the banking! The ex-pilot Toyota en F1 will ultimately finish second.

1. Petit Le Mans 2008
One of his greatest feats was born from one of his biggest blunders. During his installation lap, Allan McNish lost control of his Audi R10 TDI and hit a concrete wall. The damage is severe (front and rear bodywork missing, suspension and gearbox damaged), but repairable. Problem, the race starts without him!

Who could have counted on a victory for the Audi R10 TDI of Pirro-Capello-McNish when the diesel prototype came out of the pits two laps behind? On the Road Atlanta circuit, renowned for its technical aspect, overtaking is not an easy task. However, the Scot will overtake the 36 competitors twice, until coming back on the Peugeot 908 HDI of Christian Klien at the start of the last hour.

Far from boasting of his blunder (but also of his exceptional comeback), the winner preferred to thank his mechanics. “To bring 16-17 people from both Audis together on mine and repair it when I thought we had given up was something I didn't believe in. »
