Here is the Ford GT which could compete in Le Mans from 2016

Ford has lifted the veil on its new GT produced next year at the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit (Michigan). According to the speculations which emerged last month, the US brand would consider go back to 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016. and participate in USC with two cars, being supported by Chip Ganassi Racing.

The confirmation of a sports program on the same date as the presentation of the Touring version would have been surprising, but the return of the Ford GT coincides with the 50th anniversary of the first victory of a GT40 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The civilian version will in any case be powered by a twin-turbo V6 Ecoboost capable of developing more than 600hp. « Competition is part of our DNA. The business started with a race! I don’t see when competition and performance wouldn’t be important”, however commented Raj Nair, the vice-president of the company.

Photos of the future Ford GT are available here. The presentation video is also available on this link.
