WEC – 35 cars at the 6 Hours of Silverstone

The 6 Hours of Silverstone held on April 14 will welcome 35 crews, three more than the initial list. Seven cars will be at the start in the premier category as Rebellion Racing will field a second Lola B12/60 Coupé-Toyota with Heidfeld-Jani-Cheers on the No. 12 and Belicchi-Bèche-Cheng on the sister car. Strakka Racing will be the only other private team facing Audi and Toyota with the HPD ARX-03c of Leventis-Watts-Kane.

The LMP2 category will be the most competitive since there are now 14 crews entered for the 6 Hours of Silverstone. Oak Racing will enter a third Morgan-Nissan for driver boss Jacques Nicolet, in addition to the two LMP2s entrusted to Pla-Heinemeier Hansson-Brundle and Baguette-Gonzalez-Plowman. The Chinese team KCMG which will compete this season in the Asian Le Mans Series will also be there with a Morgan-Nissan entrusted to Alexander Imperatori (present at the 12 Hours of Sebring with Flying Lizard Motorsports), to the British Matthew Howson and the Chinese Jim Ka To.

The GTs will be present in large numbers with AF Corse, Porsche Team Manthey and Aston Martin Racing which will each enter two cars in GTE Pro. The GTE Am will complete the list with eight cars. “It is important work carried out by all the driver teams, teams and manufacturers which allows us today to present a list of 35 entrants for the very first event of the season, a race at the end of which will be awarded, for the first time in our championship, the Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy”, commented the director of the FIA WEC Gérard Neveu.
