WEC – 6 a.m. from São Paulo: Kristensen and Audi have a revenge to take

Tom Kristensen came back like never before after his ninth victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans acquired on June 22 and 23. The Dane does not want to stop there and is determined to add the crown of World Champion to it.Endurance of the FIA. At the top of the general classification alongside the Scotsman Allan McNish and the Frenchman Loïc duval, this weekend he will try to achieve his third victory of the season, at the 6 Hours of São Paulo, fourth round of the WEC. To do this, it will be necessary to overcome the sister car of the trio Marcel Fässler-André Lotterer-Benoît Tréluyer, and especially the Toyota TS030 Hybrid n°8 Sébastien Buemi-Stéphane Sarrazin-Anthony Davidson. As a reminder, last year, it was on this same Interlagos track that the Japanese LM P1 won its first career victory. There is revenge in the air... TV

The World Endurance Championship will enter its second half of the season this September 1 at the São Paulo race. What do you expect?

The Autódromo José Carlos Pace is a driver’s circuit. Slow turns, fast turns, some downhill, others uphill, blind. It’s the same thing for braking zones. It’s a real challenge to drive there. All the drivers really like this track.

There is a great motorsport culture in Brazil…
It’s true, people show incredible enthusiasm, which makes every race here very special. The Interlagos circuit is a classic Autodrome, developed into a modern circuit. It has, however, retained its original character. Reinhold Joest showed us last year what the circuit was like when he was still driving. It was quite impressive. We are delighted to be invited again for the second time with the WEC.

Audi is still undefeated in the WEC this season. Therefore, the objective in Brazil is already found, right?
Last year, we had to suffer our first defeat of the season in São Paulo. A whole series of turns are taken at less than 120 km/h. At this speed, the regulations do not allow our Audi R18 e-tron quattro to use the hybrid system (because the SREC is connected to the front axle. Editor’s note). It's a challenge. After our good start to the season, I really hope we will be ahead again in Brazil. Toyota will, obviously, be a fierce opponent, but we will do everything possible to win at Interlagos as well. We are going to Brazil with the clear objective of winning this event for Audi.
