WEC / 6 Hours of Spa – Rebellion wants to tickle Audi

This weekend, during the 6 Hours of Spa, the Swiss team will want to take its revenge, while showing the benefits of the new B12/60 aero kit. A novelty that the six pilots requisitioned for the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 16-17) were able to test on April 18 and 19 on the Spanish circuit of Valencia. The differences compared to the 2011 version? At the front, the hood, splitter, diffuser and headlights have benefited from intensive CFD and wind tunnel development. Other aerodynamic elements have been revised to improve the car's efficiency. Furthermore, different composite solutions were used by Lola to reduce the weight on certain bodywork elements. New suspensions have also been developed to accompany the new aerodynamic updates, as well as a new air intake and a revised airbox to optimize the performance of the Toyota RV8KLM engine.

First objective this Friday: Set the fifth best time in qualifying behind the four untouchable Audis. But not sure that Oak Racing, the Pescarolo Team and the teams running HPDs don't hear it that way. “We are very excited to see how our cars will perform with the new aerodynamic and technical developments, underlines Bart Hayden, Team Manager of Rebellion Racing. We are confident because of the significant progress we have made with the development work carried out in Valencia. The Spa circuit is always a challenge, and it's a real pleasure to race there, it's demanding and technical and the drivers love it. We are aiming for a good race result to score as many points as possible in the championship... ideally among the factory Audi diesels and diesel-hybrids! » There is no doubt, ambition and confidence within the Swiss team.
