VIDEO. 6H. of Monza – The best-of from the first hour of the race

The 6 Hours of Monza (Italy) began at noon this Sunday July 10 and we did not have to wait long to witness the first twists and turns of this fourth round of the 2022 season of the World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Indeed, even before the first hour mark, the Peugeot 9X8 n°93 of Mikkel Jensen stopped at the side of the track. The damage once again appears to be electronic since the team asked the Dane to reset the car. As a reminder, it is this same Peugeot 9X8 n°93 which raised a red flag the day before in qualifying following a bug on the car. After many minutes, the Hypercar driver managed to painfully return to the pits.

Restarting very late, the Hypercar is very far from the blue Glickenhaus of Romain Dumas, at the head of the event. In the LM P2 category, the United Autospors USA n°22 led by Will Owen is still in control of the race. The American resists Louis Delétraz on Prema n°9. Charles Milesi occupies third position with the No. 1 Richard Mille Racing Team.

Alessandro Pier Guidi leads the LMGTE Pro with the #51 AF Corse, on an offbeat strategy, ahead of Nick Tandy in the #64 Corvette. The second AF Corse, the n°52 ofAntonio Fuoco completes the podium at the end of this first hour.
Ben Keating took the lead in the LMGTE Am category at the wheel of theAston Martin Vantage AMR n°33. However, the American never stopped in the pits, unlike polewoman Sarah Bovy, second on the Ferrari No. 85 of the Iron Dames. Another Ferrari occupies third place with the AF Corse n°21 of Christoph Ulrich.
