WEC – Contract fulfilled for Rebellion at Fuji

Après Spa, les 24 Hours of Le Mans, Silverstone and Sao Paulo, the Swiss team won its fifth victory of the season among the private LMP1 teams and thus won the Trophy reserved for this subcategory after a faultless race dominated by the Lola B12/60 n°12 of Nicholas Cheers and Neel Jani. The Rebellion crew is even in third place in the Drivers' Championship and will try to resist the Wurz crew.Stone at the 6 Hours of Shanghai which follows at 16,5 points. Sister car No. 13 driven by Andrea Belicchi and Harold Primat finished in seventh position

“The team achieved its goal today.”, rejoices Nicolas Prost. “We had a perfect season this year, securing the Trophy Endurance FIA reserved for LMP1 Teams having already won five races out of seven. We drove with a car loaded with gasoline and worn tires throughout the week of testing. Our times were not spectacular, but we were able to find the right settings and thus have a good race. The team is no longer the same as when I arrived in 2009, it has progressed and we are now able to regularly fight at the front of the private LMP1 field. »

Bart Hayden, Rebellion Racing Team Manager, is obviously delighted by this performance as his team will compete in Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta next week before heading into the final of the WEC in Shanghai. “This Trophy was our goal since the start of the season and we won it with one race still to go. It’s an incredible result, but one that is completely deserved for everyone on the team. The pilots were as smart as they were fast, managing to avoid trouble. We are looking forward to the WEC Final in Shanghai. We will go there without pressure and perhaps we will even find a little time to celebrate this success. »
