Audi, KCMG, Porsche Team Manthey and Larbre Compétition dominated the first free practice session of the 6 Hours of Shanghai in their respective categories.

WEC – FP1: Audi takes the lead in Shanghai

The two Audi R18 e-tron quattros dominated the first free practice session of the 6 Hours of Shanghai, the penultimate round of the World Championship.Endurance. The n°7 of the Marcel Fässler-Benoît Tréluyer-André Lotterer trio completed a lap of the Chinese track in 1’45”707, a time to be credited to the last named. In second row, we find the n°8 of Lucas di Grassi-Loïc duval-Oliver Jarvis, qui suit à 0 »645, qui devance la Porsche 919 Hybrid n°17 ​​by Timo Bernhard-Brendon Hartley-Mark Webber (+0 »812). La deuxième LM P1 made in Weissach, celle de Romain Dumas-Neel Jani-Marc Lieb, est quatrième à 1 »2. Toyota est un peu plus loin, la première TS040 Hybrid accusant un retard de 1 »8 sur la marque de référence.

If Richard Bradley, in the #05 KCMG Oreca 47, set the best time in the LM P2 in 1'55"069, the #2 Ligier JS P26 is not far behind. Sam Bird is only 0 behind, just ahead ofAlpine A450b.

In GTE Pro, Porsche Team Manthey signed the two best times, the No. 911 92 RSR of Patrick Pilet ahead of the No. 91 of Richard Lietz, but Aston Martin and the AF Corse tandem are however in the same second.

Finally, Larbre Compétition stood out in GTE Am thanks to the Italian Paolo Ruberti, who preceded the Ferrari 458 Italia n°72 of SMP Racing entrusted to Andrea Bertolini and the Aston Martin n°98 of Perdro Lamy.

The second free practice session is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. French time.
