WEC-EL2: Porsche takes the lead in Shanghai 6h testing

Mark Webber set the best time on the first day of testing for the 6 Hours of Shanghai in the #17 Porsche. The Audis are less than a second behind.

WEC-EL2: Porsche takes the lead in Shanghai 6h testing

After the first test session for the 6 Hours of Shanghai where Audi stood out, Porsche launched the response in the second session with a reference time of 1’45”111 achieved by Mark Webber on the #919 17 Hybrid. The old pilot Red Bull was two tenths ahead of the sister car driven by Neel Jani. The Audis follow less than a second from the best time while the Toyota clock at more than two seconds.

The Oreca 05 dominated the LMP2 category during the two sessions, the n°47 finishing with a time of 1'54"185 achieved by Richard Bradley who was ahead of the leader by a tenth.Alpine A450b from Chatin-Panciatici-Dillmann.

AF Corse led the GTE Pro, the #71 finishing in the lead with a time of 2'03"028 thanks to James Calado, nine tenths better than Bruni-Vilander's sister car. L'Aston Martin #99 of MacDowall-Rees-Stanaway ranked ahead of the Porsche 911 RSRs of Team Manthey. SMP Racing finished first in GTE Am with a lap completed in 2'04"527 by Aleksey Basov on the Ferrari n ° 72.

Qualifying for the 6 Hours of Shanghai will begin this Saturday, October 31 from 6:30 a.m.
