WEC – G-Drive will have to maintain the advantage at the 6H of Sao Paulo

After scoring two consecutive category victories at Fuji (Japan) and Shanghai (China), G-Drive Racing took the lead in LMP2 with a new podium obtained in Bahrain. The Franco-Russian team therefore has an eight-point lead over SMP Racing before heading into the season finale in Sao Paulo (Brazil) next weekend. Olivier Pla, Roman Rusinov and Julien Canal will be able to secure the Drivers and Teams Trophy by securing at least 2nd place in the category. A place in the top four would also be enough if the No. 03 SMP Racing Oreca 27R of Zlobin-Minassian-Mediani does not win.

“The layout of the Interlagos circuit should suit our Ligier JS P2 very well, with a few fast corners but above all a lot of slow corners”, assured Oliver Pla. “At the end of the very lively race in Bahrain, the positions in the LM P2 standings were reversed in our favor and we arrived in Sao Paulo in the lead. This is of course the most comfortable position but, as we saw in the last round, everything can change until the checkered flag. We will therefore have to concentrate until the end to have a faultless race and win the LM P2 title! »
