The #18 Porsche increased its lead over the #7 Audi in Bahrain which encountered a wheel problem.

WEC-H+5: the #18 Porsche increases its lead

Neel Jani is now firmly in the lead at the wheel of the Porsche No. 18. After taking the lead over the #7 Audi of André Lotterer, his lead was reduced to one minute when the first R18 e-tron quattro encountered a problem on the right rear wheel forcing it to stop . The LMP1 on the rings remains in second place ahead of the Toyota.

The #17 Porsche returned to the garage for a few minutes following the loss of its hybrid assistance. The mechanics worked on the rear part, notably removing the engine cover. The 919 Hybrid of the title candidates remains in fifth position, one lap ahead of the No. 8 Audi of Oliver Jarvis.

Sam Bird took the lead in LMP2 with the #2 G-Drive Racing Ligier JS P26, overtaking the Oreca 05 KCMG currently driven by Nick Tandy. The second Ligier from the Russian team led by Luis Felipe Derani completes the provisional podium ahead of theAlpine Nelson Panciatici's A450b.

The #911 92 RSR is still leading the GTE Pro with Frédéric Makowiecki around twenty seconds ahead of the Ferrari n°51 by Gianmaria Bruni. Aston Martin remains in third place with the No. 97 Vantage of Jonathan Adam. The British brand is currently leading the GTE Am with the #98 of Pedro Lamy.
