WEC – JRM wants to catch Rebellion

For a first season in Endurance, JRM has nothing to be ashamed of its performances. For his debut at 24 Hours of Le Mans, the De Daventry team even allowed itself the luxury of finishing in sixth place, second in the private LM P1s. “Le Mans is one of the toughest races in the world, emphasizes Technical Director Nigel Stepney. Seeing it finish is an excellent result. Whether you have ten years of experience or it's your first time, finishing the 24 Hours of Le Mans always feels amazing. I'm really proud of the team and the drivers, it was a real team effort. »

Finally, the only private LM P1 team to have done better in Sarthe is Rebellion Racing. More experienced, the Swiss team leads the LM P1 Teams ranking of WEC. But with five rounds remaining, all hopes are still high for JRM, whose ambitions continue to grow over the months and with convincing performances. A year after winning the FIA GT1 Drivers' title, the British team would finally win the Trophy reserved for the best private team competing in the premier category of the World Endurance Championship. And to keep hope alive, this requires a new performance of choice next week at the 6 Hours of Silverstone. “We would love to get a good result on home soil, Stepney continues. QWherever it happens, it’s a race in which we must do well. We are second in the standings, just 24 points behind Rebellion. We must close this gap. This is the goal from now on. »

Difficult mission! And to achieve this, JRM reconnected with its HPD ARX 03a on Tuesday and Wednesday during a test session on the Motorland-Aragon circuit, in Spain. The opportunity for the three drivers (David Brabham, Peter Dumbreck and Karun Chandhok) to get back behind the wheel, and for Michelin to test medium tires at high temperature which will be introduced for the Bahrain round (September 29).
