WEC – Toyota n°7 downgraded, n°8 on pole

Due to a non-compliant flow meter serial number on the TS050 Hybrid n°7, the latter is declassified. It is the No. 8 of Alonso-Buemi-Nakajima which inherits the pole.

WEC – Toyota n°7 downgraded, n°8 on pole

Si the Kobayashi-Conway pair took pole position for the 6 Hours of Spa, opening handle of WEC 2018-2019, at the wheel of the Toyota TS050 Hybrid n°7, the Japanese car was downgraded, the team not having declared the correct flow meter serial number ahead of qualifying.

Consequently, it is the TS050 Hybrid n°8 taken in qualifying by Fernando Alonso et Kazuki Nakajima, who inherits first position on the starting grid. The books will therefore remember that the Spaniard, double world champion of F1, signs pole on his first appearance in the World ChampionshipEndurance.
