WEC – The No. 7 Toyota on pole for 5 thousandths

Could we really dream of a better scenario regarding qualifying for the 6 Hours of Silverstone, the opening round of the world championship?Endurance 2014 ? The three best LM P1-H are grouped into barely three tenths. The first pole position of the season goes to the Toyota TS040 Hybrid n°7 by Alexander Wurz-Kazuki Nakajima-Stéphane Sarrazin, the first two named being credited with an average time over four laps of 1’42”774. But the competition is not far away, since the Audi R18 e-tron quattro n°1 of Lucas di Grassi-Loïc duval-Tom Kristensen (these are the last cities that were requisitioned) follows at only 0 »005! The best Porsche ? She is third at 0”313. This is the number 14 of Romain Dumas-Neel Jani.

The LM P2 category unsurprisingly saw the #26 G-Drive Racing Morgan-Nissan of Olivier Pla and Roman Rusinov (who are accompanied by Julien Canal), dominate the competition thanks to an average time of 1'49"156 . The Oreca 03-Nissan KCMG of Tsugio Matsuda-Richard Bradley-Matthew Howson follows at 0”283.

AF Corsica and Ferrari have for their part dominated unchallenged in GTE, the GTE Pro pole position being to the credit of the no. 51 of Gianmaria Bruni-Toni Vilander (1'59"125) and that of the GTE Am of the no. 81 by Sam Bird-Michele Rugolo-Stephen Wyatt in 1'59"932.
