WEC – The Toyota TS030 Hybrid Spec-2013 at the Spa test

Elle va enfin faire ses débuts. Toyota Racing engage pour la première fois ce week-end à Spa-Francorchamps sa TS030 Hybrid Spec-2013, dont several new photos have just been published. An evolution of last year's model, chosen to start the world championship of?Endurance (WEC), two weeks ago, during the 6 Hours of Silverstone.

Like Audi which is fielding two versions of its R-18 in Belgium, Toyota will not put all its eggs in one basket at Spa since only one of the two crews will have the new specifications. This is the trio composed in car number 7 by Alex Wurz, Nicolas lapierre et Kazuki Nakajima. Note that the latter will make his return to the prototype, after missing the first English round because he was held up in Japan in Super Formula. Third in Great Britain, Anthony Davidson, Stéphane Sarrazin and Sébastien Buemi will once again share the TS030 Hybrid spec-2012 n°8 during the 6 Hours of Spa.

Technically, the new Toyota arrives with a new chassis and powertrain supposedly “improve performance and reliability”, we announce in the stable. “A revised aerodynamic package, featuring an advanced monocoque, offers better performance” capable, it is explained, of reducing the impact caused by the new 2013 technical regulations which require 1 LM P2013s to increase their minimum weight by 15 kg.
