Strakka Racing had planned to launch its Dome S103 LMP2 at the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo, but its commitment has now been postponed until next year after encountering homologation problems with the safety standards required by the FIA at the level of installing the headrests. The British structure had nevertheless prepared well for its debut by carrying out a five-day test session in Hungary last month before accumulating some driving time at Silverstone (Great Britain), exceeding 3500km.
“This season has been destroyed by the problems we have had.”, admitted team manager Karl Patman. “We saw the potential of the car and we know what it has in it. But we will have to wait until 2015 to show it to the public. Despite all the delays, we remain committed to WEC."
Strakka Racing took the opportunity to apologize to the organizers and the public and is now preparing its winter program which will take place in Europe, emphasizing that its commitment to the discipline is fixed for three seasons.
