WEC – The Oreca want to correct the situation in Brazil

Two teams will be running Oreca 03-Nissans this weekend during the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo, the fourth round of the World Championship year.Endurance (WEC): G-Drive Racing by Delta-ADR and Pecom Racing. Two teams entering three cars built by Hugues de Chaunac?s company, and who have already had the opportunity to make them shine this year in LM P2. Indeed, the first team mentioned won during the opening round of the season at Silverstone, while the second won a few weeks later at Spa-Francorchamps. Very good results which could not be repeated during the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the main meeting of the year.

In order to rectify the situation in Brazil, G-Drive Racing by Delta-ADR will review the crew of one of its two cars. If the No. 26 trio remains unchanged, with Roman Rusinov, Mike conway and John Martin, that of No. 25 is modified. Tor Graves will now team up with Le Mans reserve James Walker and Robbie Kerr. No change for Pecom, which will focus on stability with Luis Perez Companc, Pierre Kaffer and Nicolas Minassian at the wheel of car no. 49.

With five meetings remaining, including the Sao Paulo event, Hugues de Chaunac has no intention of admitting defeat. Far from there : “As a manufacturer, we wanted to achieve a better result at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, that’s a fact. But the season is long, the next races hold their share of difficulties, and the FIA Endurance Trophy is far from being played in LM P2, assures the president of Oreca. We must maintain a positive dynamic, like the successes achieved at Silverstone then Spa. We can count on teams of character, full of quality, and I have no doubt for a second that they will be very determined in Sao Paulo. As always, we will be behind them to support them. This title is an important objective for Oreca?s manufacturer activity and our engine department. Our goal is simple: get it and share it with our customer teams. Last year, the Oreca 03 was competitive on the Interlagos circuit and victory was within its reach. Our prototype has proven its level of performance and reliability on all circuits so the mission is simple: victory. »
