WEC – McNish: “2013 was an excellent year”

World ChampionEndurance and winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans, Allan McNish ended his last season in LM P in a very good way. On December 17, the day before the end-of-year gala evening organized by Audi in Ingolstadt, the 44-year-old Scotsman announced that he was putting an end to his sports-proto career.

In a long interview given to AUTOhebdo (see Ah n°1941 available here in digital version as well as in all the kiosks), the triple winner of the double clock tower in Sarthe explains why the world crown he won in WEC is so important to him, while evoking his best memories, his doubts and even his encounters. “For Tom (Kristensen. Editor’s note) and I think it’s even stronger than for Loïc (Duval. Editor’s note), he admits. We have been in Endurance for around ten years, since 1997. But for a long time, we did not have the opportunity to fight for a world crown. And suddenly this chance comes to you. It's very special. The 24 Hours of Le Mans, plus the world champion title… 2013 was an excellent year, really. With the experience I have, I can say that seasons like this are exceptional. »
