WEC – Oak Racing has a lead to expand in Brazil

With the double achieved in the last 24 Hours of Le Mans in LM P2, Oak Racing has already had a successful season by achieving the first major success in its history. But it would be a poor understanding of Jacques Nicolet and his men to believe that they intend to stop there. Indeed, their two Morgan-Nissans n°35 and 24 are currently in the first two places in the Trophy Endurance which will crown at the end of the year the best LM P2 drivers entered in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Back in business with the fourth round of the year in Brazil, during the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo, the Oak Racing drivers intend to increase their lead at the top of the championship.

“Winning Le Mans was the highlight of my racing career and we have been very busy this summer with media and sponsors, explained Ricardo Gonzalez, who drives the #35 Morgan alongside Bertrand Baguette and Martin Plowman. It is now time to get back in the car and try to increase our lead at the head of the LM P2 championship. I had the chance to compete in a race at Interlagos several years ago. It's a superb circuit and I'm sure it will be very interesting with the Morgan-Nissan LM P2. I?m really looking forward to seeing my teammates again and fighting for another victory. »

With a total of 77 points, the crew of the No. 35 will have to be wary of the sister car No. 24, in ambush with 73 units on its clock. And his revamped trio, composed of Olivier Pla, David Heinemeier-Hansson and Alex Brundle. “Last year this race marked my debut with OAK Racing in the WEC, said the latter. Also, it?s nice to look back and see how much things have evolved since then. This year I come back with more experience and I am confident in our ability to obtain a good result. »

We should also not forget to keep an eye on the Art Car discovered at Le Mans, car no. 45, which will ultimately race until the end of the year in WEC. with in particular the commitment of the Japanese Keiko Ihara.
