Porsche once again dominated WEC qualifying by taking the first places on the grid for the 6 Hours of Shanghai.

WEC – Porsche dominates qualifying in Shanghai

The 919 Hybrids will once again be at the forefront on the grid for the 6 Hours of Shanghai (China). Brendon Hartley and Mark Webber set an average time of 1'42"719 in the No. 17 at the top of the Championship to beat the sister car driven by Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb by more than seven tenths.

The Audis are more than a second behind, Lucas di Grassi and Loïc duval taking third position in the No. 18 R8 e-tron quattro, preceding the No. 7 qualified by Benoît Tréluyer and Marcel Fässler. Les Toyota TS 040 Hybrid are three seconds from pole.

In LMP2, it’s the #2 Ligier JS P26 of G-Drive Racing driven by Julien Canal and Sam Bird who set the benchmark for the category with an average lap of 1'52"763 which is six tenths ahead the Oreca 05 KCMG by Howson-Bradley-Tandy.

AF Corse dominated qualifying in GTE Pro. The Ferrari No. 51 of Bruni-Vilander was the fastest with an average of 2’02”243, preceding the sister car No. 71 of Rigon-Calado by two tenths. Aston Martin consoles itself in GTE Am by monopolizing the front row with the #98 of Lamy-Dalla Lana preceding the #96 of Griffin-Hall.

The start of the 6 Hours of Shanghai will take place this Sunday, November 1 from 4 a.m. (French time).
