WEC – Porsche fears rain at Silverstone

The Porsche LMP1 ont été encore les plus fortes pour les premières qualifications de la nouvelle saison du WEC in Silverstone (Great Britain). Brendon Hartley and Mark Webber established the best average performance in the #919 17 Hybrid ahead of their teammates Romain Dumas and Neel Jani at the wheel of the #18 sister car.

But the Weissach team, which remains on a victory at the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo in 2014, fears facing rainy weather for the race. The Porsches finished more than 4 seconds behind the benchmark set by the #7 Audi during the last practice session disrupted by a downpour.

“Forecasts indicate a risk of rain for the last third of the race”, underlines Fritz Enzinger, vice-president of the LMP1 department at Porsche. “We saw during the last practice session that we clearly had to improve on a wet track. »

The 6 Hours of Silverstone will be followed live on Motors TV from 12:30 p.m.
