WEC – Toyota keeps its feet on the ground before Shanghai

Toyota ne parvient pas à se hisser au niveau de Porsche et Audi cette année en WEC. The Japanese manufacturer has already turned its attention to 2015 and will test elements of the next season during testing on Friday October 30 at the 6 Hours of Shanghai where the Japanese brand won in 2012 and 2014.

“Toyota has been very competitive in the past and we have scored a podium on every trip to China”, said Toshio Sato, the president of the team. “We will do everything to get a podium this weekend, even though we know the competition is strong. »

Kazuki Nakajima, driver on the TS040 Hybrid n°1 alongside Sébastien Buemi and Anthony Davidson, seems a little more confident after the Fuji (Japan) event where he took fifth place with his teammates.

“It was nice to fight with the Audis and Porsches during the first hours of the race. But the objective is to fight until the finish,” recalled the Japanese. “I like this circuit which is difficult in terms of tire and traffic management. This is an avenue that has worked well for us in the past. »
