WEC – Audi hat-trick in Spa 6H qualifying

Audi semble avoir trouvé l’astuce pour calmer les ardeurs de Toyota. Les trois R18 e-tron quattro, équipées d’a blown diffuser as their Japanese rival also studied, were the fastest in qualifying for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The No. 18 R1 entrusted for the session to Marcel Fässler and André Lotterer took pole with an average time of 1'59"961. The No. 3 long tail version driven by Marc Gené and Lucas di Grassi will also start from the first row after failing 0”274 from pole. The No. 18 R2 of Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish completes the top three with 0 seconds behind. Toyota must be content with fourth position (+648 »0) for the No. 986 of Kazuki Nakjima and Alex Wurz while the latter is in its 7 configuration. The sister car No. 2013 entrusted to Stéphane Sarrazin and Anthony Davidson follows at more than a second. Rebellion Racing is still leading the privateer LMP8 class with the #1 Lola of Nick Heidfeld and Neel Jani.

Nicolas Minassian and Pierre Kaffer took pole in LMP2 at the wheel of PeCom Racing's Oreca 03-Nissan with an average time of 2'08"540. Lucas Luhr and Oliver Turvey took second place in the Zytek Z11SN-Nissan from the Jota Sport team, two tenths behind the category pole. Oak Racing moved into the top three with the #24 Morgan-Nissan of Oliver Pla and Martin Brundle finishing almost four tenths back. The French team monopolizes the second row with the No. 35 sister car of Baguette-Gonzalez-Plowman.

Aston Martin once again performed miracles in GTE by winning pole in GTE Pro and GTE Am. The No. 8 Vantage V98 of Bruno Senna and Fred Makowiecki took the best time in the category with an average time of 2'19"811. Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni failed by less than half a tenth at the wheel of the Ferrari 458 AF Corsica n°51. Sister car No. 71 entrusted to Kamui Kobayashi et Toni Vilander suit à deux dixièmes.

The start of the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will be given tomorrow at 14:26 p.m.
