WEC – Tsugio Matsuda returns to Austin with KCMG

The 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas held on September 20 in Austin (Texas) will see Tsugio Matsuda return to the wheel of the No. 03 Oreca 47-Nissan from the KCMG team. The 35-year-old Japanese who leads the Super GT with Nismo had a brilliant debut with the Hong Kong team with whom he has been racing since last year and notably took 2nd place in LMP2 at Silverstone alongside Richard Bradley and Matthew Howson.

After being replaced by Alexander Imperatori at Spa (Belgium) and 24 Hours of Le Mans (Nièvre), the double Formula Nippon champion will therefore be back in action within the team which currently occupies 3rd place in the LMP2 teams. “I've been waiting to get back behind the wheel of the Oreca 03-Nissan for a long time and I'm delighted to return to the Circuit of the Americas after this four-month gap. Prototype racing at Le Mans is always a refreshing experience and I'm even more excited to get to experience the Austin circuit. »
