WEC – Young Driver AMR in GTE Pro with Sorensen

Young Driver AMR has confirmed its commitment to the next season of WEC this time switching to GTE Pro. After winning the GTE Am last year, the British structure will initiate a Aston Martin Vantage V8 in the top category by fielding a 100% Danish crew. Christoffer Nygaard will be back as supported by Marco Sorensen, former Lotus test driver F1 Team. Nicki Thiim will also be present at certain events.

« My goal is still to race in F1, but my ambitions will not be slowed down if I gain experience in other Championships.", declared the new recruit of Young Driver AMR. “I followed the different races and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in recent years and I'm looking forward to driving at Le Mans for the first time. »

Concerning the choice to climb in GTE Pro, the explanation from Jan Struve, director of the structure, seems obvious. “We felt it was time to raise our level of play after winning GTE Am. We proved last year that we were capable of competing against world-class teams. »
