Westbrook and Tincknell join Aston Martin at Le Mans

Aston Martin Racing will rely on ex-Ford drivers Chip Ganassi Racing (who will no longer be entered this year) to complete its crews in preparation for 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 12-14).

As we indicated last November, Richard Westbrook will be there, former Ford resident Chip Ganassi Racing in IMSA supporting the Danish duo Nicki Thiim – Marco Sorensen in the No. 95 Vantage on the Le Mans double clock.

Also seen at Ford in WEC and at Le Mans, Harry tincknell will return to Sarthe by supporting Maxime Martin and Alex Lynn on the No. 97.

“I think for anyone, racing for Aston Martin is something that makes you extremely proud, but being British makes it even more special, Westbrook says.

Aston Martin Racing is leading the world championship, and it is a top team, with the best engineers and quality mechanics. And the car is in the right tempo right now, so it's a good time to arrive.

I'm excited to work with Nicki again. We raced together at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 2014, and I found that we were quite similar in the way we worked and what we expected from the car. »

“Aston Martin was one of the cars you always dreamed of, admits Tincknell. Now I'm running for this brand that I've been watching since I was a kid. There’s a huge legacy and to be a part of that, I have to pinch myself a little bit. »

Aston Martin currently leads the two championships in GTE Pro, but has not returned to victory at Le Mans since 2017, with the old version of the Vantage.
