Will Stevens with G-Drive at Le Mans

Nathanaël Berthon's replacement for the 24 Hours of Le Mans contested on June 18 and 19 was soon known. G-Drive Racing has confirmed Will Stevens on the Oreca 05-Nissan alongside Roman Rusinov and René Rast, the Briton who will take his first steps on the Sarthe circuit being on loan from the Manor Racing team.

“The offer to join G-Drive for Le Mans and share the car with René and Roman was tempting”, comments Will Stevens. “My partnership with René within WRT Audi (in Blancpain GT Series) is working well. His experience and that of Roman in this event offer me a great opportunity to win. »

“The arrival of Will makes sense since he already knows the Oreca”, adds Alexander Krylov, general manager of G-Drive Racing. “He is very fast and knows how to push an LMP2 to its limits. It is also beneficial that he knows René well with GT racing. »

Will Stevens will return to service at Manor for the other events on the calendar WEC. This change will force Manor to find a replacement on the Oreca 05 of Tor Graves and Matthew Rao. Roberto Merhi is one of the potential candidates.
