Williams works on the Ginetta LMP1

Ginetta announced that it had entered into a partnership with Williams Advanced Engineering for the development of its private LMP1 expected for 2018. The Oxfordshire firm will make its equipment available to carry out aero tests on the British prototype, including the operation of the wind tunnel.

Williams will work in collaboration with Adrian Reynard’s Auto Research Center on the study of aero flow by computer (CFD).

“Williams has an impressive facility and it’s a unique opportunity to be able to test the Ginetta LMP1 in the same wind tunnel that helped Williams secure multiple titles.”, commented Ewan Baldry, technical director of Ginetta.

This is not the first merger between Ginetta and Williams since the British manufacturer has already recruited Andy Lewis, a former aerodynamicist from Williams F1, to achieve his LMP1.
