Only after hitting rock bottom can you bounce back. Frank Williams knew this better than anyone, he who had to face so many difficult moments in his life as a man and manager. At the beginning of 1977, he felt that he had no place in the Wolf project and regained his freedom. After eight seasons of hardship, it's back to square one. It was in an old carpet shed in Didcot that he created Williams Grand Prix in order to enter a second-hand March 761 for the Belgian Patrick Nève, supported by a beer brand: with 8 starts in 11 attempts and a 7th place in Italy as the best result, the results of this 1977 season are not at all infamous and, above all, Frank has some great tricks up his sleeve.

Starting with his partner, Patrick Head. Trained at Lola, he joined Williams in November 1975... only to find himself immediately in the shadow of Harvey Postlethwaite, whom Wolf had brought with him with weapons and baggage.
