Ten years have passed and this Malaysian Grand Prix is still so talked about. Not by the victory of Sebastian Vettel but by the way in which the German acquired it. Asked to stay behind his teammate Mark Webber, then in control of the 2e race of the 2013 season, the future quadruple world champion decided to do as he pleased.

Faster than his garage neighbor, Sebastian Vettel wants this success at all costs, especially since his main rival Fernando Alonso gave up on 2e racing lap. The German has the opportunity to strike a major blow in the championship after only two rounds. But his team doesn't see it that way.

Wanting to preserve a double with Mark Webber on the highest step of the podium, the wall of the Austrian team ordered its drivers to freeze the positions through the coded message “Multimap 21” otherwise known as “Multi 21”. The message got through, but probably not everyone received it.

Despite Mark Webber's complaints, Sebastian Vettel did not follow the "Multi 21" instructions and attacked the Australian. After a first attempt at 44e of the 56 laps of the race before stealing 1stre place at 11 passages of the term. Nothing would change afterwards and the German would take 1re of his 13 victories that year.

Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel would then find themselves in a very tense atmosphere in the “cool room” where the former would not hesitate to express his dissatisfaction to his teammate. “ In the end Seb made his own decision and he will be protected as usual. It's like that “, proclaimed the Australian on the podium before the German apologized to him later. Insufficient to bring a smile back to his partner with whom the relationship was never going to be the same again.
