There is not only Max Verstappen who breaks records. Besides the 14e victory for the Batavian in this 2022 season, McLaren also stood out in the Mexican capital last Sunday. Although this brand went somewhat unnoticed during the Grand Prix, the English team became the first to make a pit stop under 2 seconds with the 18-inch tires introduced this year.
Called by the pit wall at 44e racing lap of the Grand Prix de México, Daniel Ricciardo was able to see how McLaren's mechanics made a stop in record time this season. In fact, the Australian's immobilization only lasted 1"98, beating the mark held by Red Bull and Sergio Pérez since the Dutch Grand Prix last September. This is a record which no longer belongs to the Austrian firm which now has two Grands Prix to try to do better.
