Abu Dhabi – Gasly points to a “lack of aerodynamic load”

Rare but very real fact, Pierre Gasly missed out on qualifying on the Yas Marina circuit. A regular guest in Q3, which he has entered 19 times this season, the driver Alpha Tauri missed the mark and saw his session come to an end in Q2.

Only 15th after his first attempt, the Norman managed to improve his time during his second flying lap to grab three places. An improvement, however, insufficient for the Habs who saw the doors of Q3 close in front of them.

« Since the start of the weekend, I have had a lack of aerodynamic load on my car, he regretted at the microphone of Canal +. We can't really understand why. It was complicated during all the free practice sessions and once again in qualifying. »

Obviously disappointed by the result of qualifying where his teammate Yuki tsunoda beat him for the first time this year, Pierre Gasly however does not intend to give up for the last of the season.

« We'll see what we can do but we've had a lot of problems with the car since the start of the weekendHe says. We slide a lot and it's very weird. We can see it in the data but so far we haven't been able to find the solution. We are going to work tonight (SATURDAY) and there is still the race. It's tomorrow (Sunday) that we score the points and we will try to do the best possible. »
