During a press conference around the presentation of the 2021 edition of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Saif Al-Noaimi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management, announced that the track would receive modifications from 2021.
“We are looking to improve the spectacle on track during the race, explains the CEO of the circuit. We listened to the spectators, the fans, the drivers, the F1 and the FIA, and we worked accordingly. Some changes will be exciting this year in terms of the layout. »
No information on the places on the circuit that will be modified. “We will still have to wait a little longer to know precisely the changes made to this track, but everything will indeed be ready for the 2021 edition,” says Al-Noaimi.
The objective is simple, to improve the spectacle on the track: “The objective is naturally to create more battles on track, confirms Al-Noaimi. We want to create more overtaking opportunities, and create an overall faster circuit given the current single-seater regulations. We can't wait to see some overtaking, some action, and we hope the title will be decided here at the end of the season. »
The changes will take place during the summer while the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is scheduled for the weekend of December 10-12, closing out the 2021 championship.
