Adrian Sutil, the crazy comeback

Last Saturday, after qualifying for the European Grand Prix, the driver of the VJM 03 with number 14 was very disappointed. Eliminated in Q2, Adrian Sutil was aware that by starting from thirteenth place on the starting grid, it would be very difficult to glean big points, despite a car which he knew was effective.

But the next day, the German had a magnificent race, taking full advantage of the intervention of the safety car which followed Mark Webber?s accident.

“My race was very interesting with a good result, going from 13th to 6th place, says the 27-year-old pilot. It?s quite surprising, it?s one of my best races this season. We made the decision to return to the pits at the right time. When the safety car came out, I was in the last sector and I was able to enter the pits straight away, and progress up the hierarchy when the guys in front returned. Then I passed Buemi on the track and in the end I found myself sixth at the finish. I think we executed everything perfectly today. It’s an encouraging result for the team, with big points scored once again.”

With 31 points on the clock, Adrian Sutil is tenth in the drivers' world championship standings, just three points behind Michael Schumacher. Force India, for its part, occupies sixth place among the manufacturers. But Renault, fifth, seems inaccessible.
