Brake duct case: Racing Point withdraws its appeal

Before the start of the Italian Grand Prix, Racing Point formalized the withdrawal of its appeal in the brake duct affair in a press release this Sunday. The FIA having provided clarity regarding the rules for the listed parts, the British team has decided to backtrack.

« We welcome the resolution that the teams have accepted and we are pleased that the FIA has provided much needed clarification on the rules regarding listed and non-listed parts », We can read in the Racing Point press release.

« The technical delegates and all parties involved in this appeal process recognized that there was a lack of clarity in the regulations and that we did not violate them. Now that the ambiguity surrounding the regulations has been clarified we have decided to withdraw our appeal in the wider interest of the sport ».

The matter settled, Racing Point now wants to “ focus solely on what we came here to do: race hard and provide excitement and entertainment to the millions of fans of F1 around the world ».

La Team Ferrari, the only team to have officially appealed in this case concerning Racing Point and its brake ducts, could also withdraw its appeal if it obtained the clarifications sought.
