Albon: “We can take more risks in the second GP”

Alexander albon prepares for the resumption this weekend with the Austrian GP contested on the land of his team Red Bull, in Spielberg. With a full season behind him, the Thai is no longer a rookie and he knows the procedures related to preparing for a race weekend well. However, the unprecedented program of the F1 linked to the Covid-19 pandemic should force participants to readjust since the discipline will also occur the following weekend at the Red Bull Ring.

“The dynamics are more or less similar and the first race weekend should be approached like any other. The changes should come during the second race weekend where we will have the perfect opportunity to directly compare with the previous weekend. We will be able to test new things which are normally risky because everything changes on another circuit”, explained the Thai.

“Here we will be on the same track with roughly the same weather and we can try things. We will be able to take more risks in the second GP because we will be able to return to the configuration of the first weekend on the car if things do not work out”, said the Red Bull driver.

Alexander Albon remains aware that the result of the first race at Spielberg will greatly determine the hierarchy of the second event, the Styrian GP.

“If someone has a good lead, it will be difficult to match these times. But there may be differences and that's where top teams like ours will analyze in detail and pay attention to driver feedback to improve.", he added.

Alexander Albon took 15th place last year at the Austrian GP while he was still racing for Toro Rosso.
