There is no trace of the participations ofAlexander albon (Williams) at the 2022 Italian Grand Prix in Monza and for good reason: the Thai did not take part, due to an attack of appendicitis. The 26-year-old driver withdrew after free practice on Friday, and was replaced at short notice by Nyck de Vries.

The former pilot of DTM then suffered respiratory failure after his surgery, but fought back to his seat two weeks later at the Singapore Grand Prix, where he retired after an accident. Alexander Albon subsequently retired from Japan and never finished in the points over the last four rounds of the year.
Last race of the year and last race with this guy! Nicky, it has been a pleasure working side by side with you as teammates this year. One of the nicest guys in the paddock and wishing you all the best with what you do next 💪 pic.twitter.com/qcbBqaGCER

A few weeks after the end of the season, Alexander Albon recognized a physical decline due to his appendicitis attack. “The winter break will be vital for me to return to 100% of my abilities, did he declare. We didn't have enough time for me to train after my operation to get back to a good physical level.
In Singapore, I suffered, he admits. In Japan, I got back to 75% of my capacity and then it got better. » Alex Albon has in any case not registered a bridge since the Belgian Grand Prix at the start of the summer (10th) and finished the season in 19th place in the Drivers' ranking with 4 points on the clock.
