Withdrawal from the Italian Grand Prix after having undergone surgery last Saturday for an attack of appendicitis, Alex Albon experienced post-operative difficulties, particularly with regards to breathing, which forced the medical teams to temporarily place him in intensive care. As had indicated Williams, the Thai finally left the hospital on Tuesday to return home.

This Friday, Albon took the time to publish a short video in which he gives his news. “I feel pretty good…I feel OK”, he reassured. “Last Saturday I had a little problem and the doctors did a great job. I'm really grateful that they kept me healthy and released me from the hospital on Tuesday. Since then, I have returned to Monaco. I've started to walk a little again and the goal is to be ready for Singapore, which is going to be very hard. It’s one of the most physical, most difficult races, so it won’t be easy, but I’m giving myself high goals and we’ll see what happens.”
As a reminder, in his absence in Italy, Nyck De Vries replaced him at short notice, signing an incredible 9th final position with two points up for grabs. Following this, the Dutchman clearly repositioned himself in the race for a seat, since Williams, Alpha Tauri et Alpine seem to have expressed an interest in the one who was double world kart champion around ten years ago (2010 and 2011). AUTOhebdo wishes Alex Albon the best in his recovery.
