Alexander Rossi leaves Caterham mid-season

Alexander Red left Caterham after joining the Malaysian team in 2011 as a test driver F1. The American defended the team’s interests in Formula Renault 3.5 Series and in GP2 Series by continuing its development work in the premier single-seater discipline. If his career also moved towardsEndurance, he leaves the Malaysian team where he will be replaced by Tom dillmann during the next two rounds. His season will still continue as he will take part in the Hockenheim round with Campos Racing, replacing Kimiya Sato.

“I thank every person at Caterham that I have worked with. We have had meetings in recent months with the old and new management. The decision to leave Caterham is the right choice for my career,” commented Alexander Rossi. “I leave with only positive thoughts about the time spent here, where I was able to benefit from enormous F1 driving time testing every car since Lotus Racing (now Team Lotus then Caterham F1 Team) arrived in the discipline in 2010.”

If Alexander Rossi leaves Caterham, the American does not give up his hopes of securing a place as a starting driver in F1. “My goal is to get to F1 and add value. We have a great opportunity to grow this discipline in the USA and I think the timing is perfect. I am also very happy to see Haas Formula is considering an arrival in F1 from 2016.
