Alexander Rossi reunites with Manor

The announcement of the presence of the American Alexander Red as reserve driver of the Manor Racing team will allow the new resident of Bryan Herta / Andretti Autosport to IndyCar to maintain a foothold in the premier discipline of motorsport.

Passed by Caterham and Marussia as a reserve driver during his career, Rossi was finally started last year for a mini-program of five races to replace the Spaniard Roberto Merhi. In the running to get a seat in the new Manor Racing entity for 2016, the Californian was blocked by the arrivals of Pascal Wehrlein and Rio Haryanto.

“It was disappointing to miss an opportunity to race with Manor Racing this year: everyone knows I pushed and worked hard for it. As an official reserve driver however, However, I have a double program at the highest level of motorsport, Rossi comments.

The IndyCar Series is the premier category of single-seater racing in North America and extremely competitive. I also have the privilege of playing with a victorious team, Andretti Autosport. My schedule this year will be very extensive, but no more than a calendar F1 full-time. I will be present at 11 Grands Prix, of which only five take place during the IndyCar season. »
