Alfa Romeo dominates Wednesday in Barcelona

The author of the first reference in the second week in Barcelona will not even be at the start of the Grands Prix this season. By setting a time of 1''16'942 this Wednesday at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Robert Kubica set the best mark of the day in Catalonia.

The reservist Alfa Romeo slammed his time in the morning with a soft Pirelli C5, the only one of the drivers in action to have used this compound this Wednesday, before handing over the wheel to the holder Kimi Räikkönen in the afternoon.

The Pole, who completed 53 laps this morning, is ahead of the Red Bull by Max Verstappen. The stable of Milton Keynes had, however, had a complicated start to the day due to a suspension problem on the RB16, which had limited Alexander albon at 29 laps in the morning. His Dutch teammate, who dismounted 5 minutes from the checkerboard after a spin at turn 10, made up for lost time with 84 rotations in the hills of Montmeló.

Sergio Pérez completes the Top 3 at the wheel of a Racing Point which still looks as frisky (and similar to the Mercedes last year). Daniil Kvyat, who relayed Pierre Gasly in Alpha Tauri in the afternoon, took 4th fastest time but also stopped on the track at the very end of the session. The Russian precedes his French teammate, slowed down by a bad pipe connection on his AT01 this morning. The Frenchman was only able to complete 25 laps due to a minor but time-consuming repair.

Albon finished 6th, ahead Lewis Hamilton, author of 89 laps in the morning. His teammate Valtteri Bottas added 90 in the afternoon and set the 9th fastest time at the end of a productive day for Mercedes. Between the two Silver Arrows slips the Racing Point of Lance stroll

Sebastian Vettel completes the Top 10 for Ferrari, ahead of the best ranked driver Renault, Namely Daniel Ricciardo. Carlos Sainz is 12th at the wheel of the McLaren MCL35 and above Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) as well as the drivers Williams Nicholas latifi and George Russell.

Romain Grosjean signs the 16th time for Haas, while the trio Lando Norris (McLaren), Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo), and Esteban Ocon (Renault) bring up the rear of this first day of running in the second week.
