Alfa Romeo hopes 'lessons will be learned' from Spa

Wrong operation for Alfa Romeo this Sunday in Spa. While the Belgian Grand Prix was suspended after two laps under Safety Car due to the torrential rains on the hilly circuit of the Belgian Ardennes, the team based in Hinwil lost big this Sunday by not scoring any points while Williams placed Nicholas latifi (10th) and above all George Russell (2nd) in the points. With 17 units behind the British team, Alfa Romeo now seems out of the race for eighth place in the manufacturers' standings. If the decision not to start the race does not suffer any dispute from Alfa Romeo, the team cannot digest the result ratified by the Formula 1, as explained in a press release: « The decision not to race in these conditions was the right one, in the interest of protecting the safety of the drivers, the marshals and the spectators themselves. However, the situation would have been handled much more appropriately by not having at all the “race” that we were treated to. We hope that lessons were learned yesterday, lessons that will improve the way we operate in the future and put fans of our sport in the position they deserve to be. Once again, our sincere thanks go to all the fans – you are the ones who really shone yesterday at Spa. »
