Alfonso Celis Jr has been appointed by Force India as development driver for the Indian team. The 19-year-old Mexican will make his debut behind the wheel of a F1 during post-season testing in Abu Dhabi, sharing the wheel of the VJM08 with Nico Hulkenberg.
Vijay Mallya's team clarified that the new recruit would participate in seven free practice sessions on the sidelines of the Grands Prix in 2016.
The new Force India development driver has notably prepared by competing in the GP3 Series and Formula Renault 3.5 Series. The Mexican finished in 16th place in the World Series by Renault Championship with AVF and is in 13th position in the GP3 Series with ART Grand Prix.
