Alguersuari does not fear Daniel Ricciardo

Daniel Ricciardo will take the wheel of a STR6 during free practice before the Grands Prix. Could the Australian be a threat to Buemi and Alguersuari? The Spaniard doesn't seem to worry about it.

Alguersuari does not fear Daniel Ricciardo

What does the arrival of Daniel Ricciardo in Toro Rosso ?
His incorporation into the team is confirmation of the very good functioning of the Red Bull Junior Team. Without this program and the determination of Dr. Helmut Marko, I would never have arrived in F1.

But Ricciardo wanting the same thing as you, wouldn't he be a rival?

Of course, but that's what the Red Bull program has been instilling in us since we were 15. And nothing is more normal than seeing Ricciardo, Buemi, me or even Hag do your best without worrying about others.

I have known Daniel since 2007, when we raced against each other in Formula Renault 2.0 Italian. He is almost a year older than me. He is a very good person and an excellently well prepared driver both physically and mentally. Daniel must show that he is a trustworthy driver, and as we all have done, must continue to fight in the disciplines below Formula 1. His participation in Friday testing will be an extraordinary experience for him, because that he will be able to share with me and Buemi information that will make him a better driver, and a serious candidate for a starting place at Toro Rosso in the future.

Does his debut in F1 seem easier?

To be sincere, I too would have liked to start in the same conditions as him (Best time of the Rookie Tests in Abu Dhabi the last two years behind the wheel of Red Bull, editor's note). Everything fell on me at once. I arrived in F1 at 19 years and 3 months, was directly immersed in the world championship mid-season, in Hungary, without having ever driven in a Formula 1 before, and the hardest part was having no knowledge of the behavior of the tires. However, I survived. I honestly think I did a serious job and was rigorous.
