Alguersuari wants to go to Jerez

Jaime Alguersuari, even if nothing has been made official, should be renewed by Toro Rosso for the next season Formula 1However, the Spanish driver, who has limited experience of F1, is frustrated at not being able to participate in the winter tests reserved for young drivers.

From December 1st to 3rd, the teams will have the opportunity to test new drivers, such as Nico Hulkenberg and Andy Soucek (Williams), Bertrand Baguette (Renault), Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull), Brendon Hartley and Mirko Bortolotti (Toro Rosso)? For this, the drivers must not have participated in more than two rounds of the Formula 1 world championship. However, Jaime Alguersuari took part in eight races this season. FIA regulations therefore prohibit him from appearing at Jerez.

According to AS, Jaime Alguersuari would have written to the Spanish motorsport federation to express his dissatisfaction with this rule. The Catalan rookie therefore asks his federation to intervene with the FIA to allow him to participate in the Jerez test.

Alguersuari, who participated this season in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series within the Carlin Motorsport team, joined Formula 1 in Hungary without the slightest timed test. The Catalan therefore hopes to be able to carry out the Jerez tests with his little experience and with less pressure than during race weekends.
