Allison: The Ferrari SF15-T will look better

While fans wait impatiently the presentation of the SF15-T which will take place on January 30, Scuderia Ferrari is preparing to compete in the first winter tests of the season in Jerez (Spain). After a particularly difficult season, the team Maranello is expected around the corner. If the thaw in the development of Power Units is a positive point for the Prancing Horse, the Italian team had above all to ensure that it created a car more efficient than the F14-T.

James Allison, the technical director of Scuderia Ferrari, therefore had to establish a new working base. “The plan was simple. We were too slow last year, not efficient enough. So we had to create a competitive single-seater”, he commented in an official team video. “The main challenge to achieve this is to have a lot of aero downforce, a lot of engine power and good handling. So we focused on these three areas. »

Scuderia Ferrari engineers also had to adapt to the new regulations and remove that horrible nose from the F14-T. “The front of the car had to be corrected at the front wing and nose”, confirmed the former Lotus engineer F1 team. “But it wasn’t very difficult for us because it was something we anticipated. This year's car will look better than last year's. »

Scuderia Ferrari will be one of the teams that has undergone the most transformations since last year. The arrival of Sebastian Vettel replacing Fernando Alonso will also be followed with great attention.
