Fernando, after a disappointing weekend in Japan, what is the state of mind in the team as it prepares for the Brazilian Grand Prix?
Even though the result of the race at Suzuka was disappointing, the team remains in a positive state of mind. We know the car is fast, unfortunately we were unlucky in the qualifying session. It's a shame, because I think we could have scored points if my position on the starting grid had been different. We know we struggle with Williams and BMW in the constructors' championship, so every point I can score in the last two races will be very important.
What racing memories do you have from Brazil?
Interlagos will always be very special to me because I won two world championship titles there with Renault. It is one of the most beautiful races of the season, the fans are passionate about Formula One and the atmosphere is very special.
What are the challenges of Interlagos?
The surface is generally very bumpy, so it is necessary to have a car capable of going over these bumps. The circuit runs counterclockwise, so it is very physical for the drivers. Additionally, it has some long left turns that are taxing on the neck muscles. It's not easy to find the perfect set-up of the car because there are fast corners, slow corners, and then a very long straight. The secret to a good lap time is to have an efficient aerodynamic package and a car with good mechanical grip for the middle of the lap.
