Alonso and Alpine condemn the harassment of a race commissioner

The stupidity of some so-called supporters is further highlighted in Formula 1. Fernando Alonso and the team Alpine condemned the online harassment suffered by race commissioner Silvia Bellot, following the penalty imposed (then canceled a week later) on the double world champion during the United States Grand Prix. Silvia Bellot, also Spanish and the only female race commissioner during the event in Austin, was the target of abuse through social networks. Several Spanish accounts accused the commissioner of being part of a plot against Fernando Alonso.

The team Alpine said on Twitter that she was “disappointed to learn of this unacceptable harassment”, and add: “There is no place for any form of harassment or abuse in our sport and we condemn this behavior. »
