Alonso praises Vandoorne

Fernando Alonso will welcome a new teammate next year with the arrival of Stoffel Vandoorne who will replace Jenson Button. The double world champion knows the Belgian well who currently occupies the position of third driver of McLaren since the latter replaced him at the Bahrain Grand Prix when the Asturian was recovering from his accident at the Australian GP.

“I have ridden with many young riders over the last few years and I know a good one when I see one, commented Fernando Alonso. I enjoyed working with him when he replaced me in Bahrain earlier in the season and I look forward to continuing to work with him and helping the team develop. With Jenson (Button), I am certain that we will manage to put McLaren-Honda back in the place it deserves: that of the front. »

Fernando Alonso also appreciates the fact that his current teammate is continuing his career at McLaren-Honda.
